It seems like every where you go, at home and at work, someone has caught the flu or unfortunately H1N1. Some are wary of taking the shots or medication and its possible side effects. However, there are many natural remedies to boost your immune system, enable you to recover faster and make you feel healthier. And some of these you may find are already part of your daily meals.
Vitamin C – boosts immune system and increase the number of white blood cells
Garlic – decreases de growth of the virus
Ginger Tea – is antiviral and helps break up mucus and congestion
Chilli Peppers – acts as a natural decongestant and expectorant
Apple and dark grape juice – works against congestion and runny nose
Yogurt – fights infection
Lemon – helps promote health by quickly alkalinizing the body
Elderberry – strengthens the immune system and blocks the flu virus from sticking to our cells
Green Tea – kills viruses and stimulates the immune system to fight off flu infections, especially when used daily
About Teresa Lee
I’m Teresa and have been in the digital realm for several years now. I breath, work, and live anything and everything web. Currently, I am a Project Manager for a local digital agency aka ‘we make teh internet’:) On the side, I enjoy reading up on the latest interaction design, social media, and internet marketing trends. What I like about being in the New Media world is that it lets me indulge in my creative, technical, and business sides. I also take advantage of our seasonal weather by snowboarding during the winters and hyperventilating up the Grind during the summers. And then there is my alter-ego: the foodie. I love the Vancouver food scene and proud that we have such a strong culinary community. From trying out different restaurants to experimenting with cooking, I take joy in having food as an important aspect of my daily life. Local chefs and industry insiders like Vij, Rob Clark, and Andrew Morrison are like rock stars to me. My fondness for anything sweet and savoury has led me to this pretty nifty well rounded food site. It’s a great avenue to share with you all my dining findings and home-cooking musings. I hope you enjoy my novice food blogging. So welcome and happy reading and eating.
